Cool temperatures have slowed corn growth this Spring


ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Early planted corn growth has slowed with cool soil temperatures this season. Field Specialist in Agronomy with the University of Missouri Extension Wayne Flanary told KXCV/KRNW that moist frozen ground could burst a seed.

Flanary advises farmers to scout their fields a week to ten days after cold weather to determine injuries, earlier if fields warm up.
